Do you do custom orders?
Yes definitely - send an email with what you are looking for, it would be helpful if you had a photo or two and we can take if from there. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Will my silver tarnish?
All our silver is solid sterling silver and yes silver does tarnish. This is due to exposure to the air and the copper content in the silver (sterling silver has a small amount of copper alloy in to make it more durable than fine silver). This is just a surface finish and can easily be cleaned or polished off.

What is gold plated jewellery?
This is sterling silver that has been either rose or yellow gold dipped/plated. It is put into a solution where the gold particles coat the silver. This is a surface finish.

How long will the plating last?
As this is just a surface finish it does wear. It will depend on how often you wear the piece and how hard you are on your jewellery.  I would not recommend it for rings or bangles as these pieces get a lot of wear.
With gold plated jewellery it is best not to sleep, swim, shower or bath with it on. Keep it in a jewellery box/pouch where it is not rubbing on any other jewellery.

What is the difference between brass and bronze?
They are both copper alloys – brass is yellow in colour and bronze is pinker in colour

Will brass/bronze tarnish?
Yes it will this is due to the copper in these alloys. They can be cleaned using a brass cleaning solution like Brasso.
I personally love how the brass takes on its own colours getting a little brown. You can also use an abrasive pad like you use to wash your dishes to take away the tarnishing.
For rings the best is to wear them let it naturally polish up through wear

Why does my brass/bronze ring make a green mark on my finger?
This is the copper content in these metals reacting with your PH levels. It is worse for some people than others. It is completely harmless and washes off.

How should I store my jewellery?
It is best to store your jewellery away from the air (this causes the tarnishing) in a bag in a box or in a jewellery box.
If you are closer to the sea your jewellery will tarnish quicker.
Remember the best thing for your jewellery is to wear it.

How do I clean my jewellery?
I prefer to use a DIY cleaner as it is chemical free.
In a ceramic or plastic container put down a piece of tin foil, shiny side up
Boil the kettle. Place your jewellery on the tinfoil and pour about half a cup of bicarbonate of soda.
Then pour the boiled water on top and watch if fizz.
Leave it for about 10 minutes and for it to cool a little, rinse under a tap. Pat dry and dry with a hairdryer.
It should look a whole lot better, sometimes it might need a little help with a polishing cloth (you can find this at your nearest jewellery or online).
